I was honoured yesterday to offer my first workplace presentation, called Mindfulness in the Workplace. Most pleasing for me is that the session came about because of the kindness of a participant at one of my meditation workshops who recommended me to her firm, the friendly folk at Megson Fitzpatrick Insurance company in Victoria BC.
The session was conducted over Zoom, and I was so grateful for the technical help that Jennifer, who works at the firm, provided for me. Thanks too are due to Kimberly, who first contacted me at the beginning of the year.
The workplace has of course become a very different place for so many due to the Covid pandemic, and this was the case for everyone attending. We looked at some ways to be mindful when working at home, then went on to talk about some specific mindfulness techniques to practice during the day, particularly during stressful moments.
I learnt a lot myself, not least some of the complexities of Zoom, and already have ideas to make my next presentation even better.
